I thought it might be nice to visit the seaside, so the lovely Mr. B. said he knew 'just the place' and we headed to Brean Downs, near Burnham-on-Sea. It was, indeed, a lovely beach, and on a sunnier day it would have been ever better .... but it turned out that we hadn't come to look at the beach ....
.... because Brean Downs is a climbing area! Regular readers may recall that the lovely Mr. B. is rather fond of climbing, and we spend a lot of time 'looking at rock'. So that's what we did. Well, he looked at the rock, and I looked for interesting pebbles.
We chanced upon a dead sheep, the poor creature had clearly fallen from the cliff ( I won't show you, I promise!), so I decided to take Inca away and head back to the sand, while Mr. B. lingered for a while at the cliff face ...
Inca didn't want to leave her 'Dad' and spent the next five minutes watching his every move from a distance. She couldn't be persuaded to come with me.
The tail started wagging as soon as she knew he was coming back to her ...
Is that a doggy grin?
arhhh a daddies girl, too true looking at the photos!

Yes, that's a doggy grin. Poor sheep!
ReplyDeleteThats so sweet. Oh the poor sheep! Had you been with HFW you would have taken it back to eat!!!xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear, dear Inca. Oscar does just the same! I'm sure Inca IS smiling. Ros
ReplyDeleteI think thats definately a smile. I LOVE that thing they do with their doggy eyebrows when they're thinking too! (Can just see a glimpse of it in that final pic.) Very sweet xxx
ReplyDeleteSuch a Daddy's Girl huh?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah...clearly a doggy grin! They just can't hide their feelings, can they?! Poor sheep...plunged to his death. Terrible to think of, really.
ReplyDeleteAren't pets amazing? I think our Duke is a Daddy's boy most of the time, but hubby says he's a mommy's boy! Hubby takes him to class on Tuesday/Thursday when he's teaching American Government! We think he'll be getting a degree soon! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteInca didn't want to leave dad behind, and must have been relieved when he returned - very loyal and lovely dog. Unfortunate about the sheep ~ they seem sure-footed, but I guess accidents are bound to happen occasionally. Sunshine would have been nice, but the fresh sea air would be like a tonic, I think :)
ReplyDeleteBless her! They are so devoted aren't they!

Your story about Inca wanting her Dad is just one of the reasons I love dogs so much. They love their families. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos.

Have just been on several walks with you via your last four posts to places I have never been before (well, we did visit Bath last year for the first time). Lovely inspiring pictures of places for future outings.
ReplyDeleteOur lab is just the same! she like's to keep her pack together.
ReplyDeleteShe sounds and looks a lovely dog.How did she come by the name of Inca?
ReplyDeleteCertainly looks like a doggy grin to me!
ReplyDeleteI think pets are amazing. There is a Lab on You Tube named Denver. If you have a minute go on and look for Denver who got in trouble from his owner. You will not be disappointed. I belly laughed so hard. Gorgeous scenery.
