Scavenger Hunt for May

Goodness, it seems like I haven't done a post in ages.
Life is just getting in the way at the moment ... it's mad busy in work, Mr B. is struggling with a bad back again, and my camera is playing up. I seem to have dark spots all over the lens which are spoiling some of my snaps.
Anyway, moan over, here are my offerings for May.

Do you see what I see?
Yes, this really is a cockatoo, perched on a woman's shoulder while she shops at the fish stall in a Paris street market
Historic - the famous gingerbread shop in Grasmere, in Cumbria. It's been selling Sarah Nelson's secret recipe here since 1854.
Nose .... Inca's, of course.
Beverage .... breakfast in Paris

Fragrance .... testing the wares at Occitane.
Currency .... the much troubled Euro. It doesn't seem to go very far these days.
Station ... the beautiful metro station sign near Montmartre.
Yellow .... empty seats in the metro.
Front page .... I loved this guy in Keswick market.
Nine ... this is a '99' will that do?
Good things .... macaroons in Paris. My goodness, how scrumptious are these?
Small packages .... a collection of tiny jewelled boxes on a market stall.

A splash of sunshine makes all the difference to life, doesn't it. Do you think it will hold up for the Jubilee weekend?

I'll try and post the new list for June tomorrow!

Scavenger Hunt for May

Hello everyone ..... apologies for not joining in with April's hunt, but we've just had too much to deal with recently. I didn't pick my camera up at all for a good few weeks, and the month just slipped away.

So, I'm just going to show you just one photograph .... because I think this whole event in Liverpool was pretty amazing!!!!
Amazing

This was taken at the Sea Odyssey event when three giant puppets roamed around the city for three days.

Hopefully, I'll be snapping away as usual during May .... if it ever stops raining!

So, here's the new list:

good things
small packages
fragrance
station
nose
front page
nine
beverage
currency
historic
yellow
do you see what I see?

Happy Hunting!

Scavenger Hunt ~ February 2012

I've had to wait until the last minute to post this, because I needed something for 'Leap Year'.
Talk about cutting it fine!

 5  ~ a restaurant in Bath
Food - sadly not real, it was in the kitchen on the SS Great Britain
Black and white - also on board the SS Great Britain in Bristol.
In the sky ... a bicycle dangling above a houseboat in Bristol
A train .... two in fact. A carriage from the city's old Overhead Railway, and below is the Lion locomotive from the Liverpool to Manchester railway dating from 1837.
Music .... Snow Patrol play Liverpool's Echo Arena. A wonderful night!!!

Love ... displayed in the window of the Jane Austen Centre in Bath
Empty .... Mr. B. standing in the vast Tithe Barn in Bradford on Avon

Heritage ~ the SS Great Britain itself.

So far, so good .... here's where it all falls apart ....

Cupid ~ Couldn't find Cupid anywhere, so this little cherub is the closest I got! Well, he's got wings I suppose !!!!

Crowded .... I  completely forgot this one on the list .... so I've just grabbed a Crowded House CD.
And, finally, Leap Year ... thank you to The Times today for coming up trumps today with a little article about Leap Year traditions!

Well done to all of you have posted already ..... some fantastic shots out there!

Look out for March's list tomorrow!

Scavenger Hunt ~ November

Here's my collection for November. I nearly didn't make this in time this month.
I'd left a lot of the list to finish off last weekend, and then I was wasn't  very well, so I've had a mad dash for the past two days looking for replacements for the photos I had in mind.
Something you made .... this Home sweet Home collage hangs in my kitchen
Polka dots ... also in my kitchen. I have a 'thing' for red spots!
Comfort food .... steak and kidney pie made from my favourite winter recipe book
Something that lights up ... the advent wreath in St Anne's (Stanley) church, Liverpool
A lucky charm ~ I was given this bracelet last year by my friends, with a faith, hope and love charm. I wore to every single one of my radiotherapy appointments, but I can't bring myself to wear it now I'm better.
A silhouette .... the top of the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool. I'm cheating on this one, I took it earlier in the year.
Warmth ... the wonderful fire at Barter Books, Alnick
A staircase .... hometime .... best part of the day!!!!
A Poppy .... wreaths outside Chester cathedral
A memorial ~ at St Anne's Church again. This panel has the names of those local young men who gave their lives during the last two wars. We have a smaller one in our school building too.
Purple .... couldn't find anything purple, but this field of lavender is in the corner of a painting that hangs in the hallway.
And this is a rare photograph of me!
A mirror shot, because I have no idea how to work the self timer on my camera!

It's been lovely seeing everyone who's been taking part.... but there's been a bit of cheating going on!!! It's funny how everyone else says how much they hate being in front of the lens too!!!!

Come back tomorrow for the final list of the Photo Scavenger Hunt 2011.... are you ready for a challenge?

Scavenger Hunt - October

I don't think I'm the only one who found this list harder than expected this month. I thought the Hallowe'en ones would be easy at this time of year, but I ended up really scavenging to complete the list!
Pumpkins - at Church Farm, Thurstaston. I've never seen green ones before.
Golden .... winter pansies at the local garden centre.
Crunchy leaves .... in Caldy Woods.
Something eerie ... we found this huge figure on a local war memorial really spooky, even on a sunny afternoon.
Candlelit ... a collection of sundry candles found around the house.
A river .... waterfall in Scotland.
Heritage .... a heritage museum in Glencoe.
Mist ... is it mist, or just low cloud? It's the closest I got to mist this month.
Sunset ... I caught this at the back of my house early on in the month, but then I got this....
Much more dramatic I think!
Here's where it all falls apart!!!!
A witch's hat .... well I searched and searched for this one, and just when I was giving up hope, this old crone turned up on the front of the magazine section of our newspaper ... (along with a rather nice recipe for Barabrith which I want to try soon!)
Graffiti .... nope, I couldn't find any either. So, I've cheated, and used this photo taken on holiday in France this year. The menfolk were snapped 'waiting for us to go round the shops'.
No black cats either ... so this is my daughter dressed as a cute cat for Hallowe'en.
The photo is taken from a scrapbook layout from a few years ago.

Thanks again to everyone who joins in with this little game .... I still love looking at everyone's different interpretations.
Are you ready for November's challenge?
