I don't think I'm the only one who found this list harder than expected this month. I thought the Hallowe'en ones would be easy at this time of year, but I ended up really scavenging to complete the list!
Pumpkins - at Church Farm, Thurstaston. I've never seen green ones before.
Golden .... winter pansies at the local garden centre.
Crunchy leaves .... in Caldy Woods.
Something eerie ... we found this huge figure on a local war memorial really spooky, even on a sunny afternoon.
Candlelit ... a collection of sundry candles found around the house.
A river .... waterfall in Scotland.
Heritage .... a heritage museum in Glencoe.
Mist ... is it mist, or just low cloud? It's the closest I got to mist this month.
Sunset ... I caught this at the back of my house early on in the month, but then I got this....
Much more dramatic I think!
Here's where it all falls apart!!!!
A witch's hat .... well I searched and searched for this one, and just when I was giving up hope, this old crone turned up on the front of the magazine section of our newspaper ... (along with a rather nice recipe for Barabrith which I want to try soon!)
Graffiti .... nope, I couldn't find any either. So, I've cheated, and used this photo taken on holiday in France this year. The menfolk were snapped 'waiting for us to go round the shops'.
No black cats either ... so this is my daughter dressed as a cute cat for Hallowe'en.
The photo is taken from a scrapbook layout from a few years ago.
Thanks again to everyone who joins in with this little game .... I still love looking at everyone's different interpretations.
Are you ready for November's challenge?
a poppy
memorial
silhouette
something you have made
something purple
warmth
polka dots
a lucky charm
comfort food
a staircase
something that lights up
and lastly ... a self portrait! Let's see who has been playing along!
Happy hunting!

Great shots! Your sunsets are gorgilious!!!
ReplyDeleteI too found this month's really difficult, in fact I've still got a couple to get!
ReplyDeleteI think your photos are great! It was surprising how hard some of those items were! I love the pumpkins, eerie and the more dramatic sunset!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the new list :)
I had great plans of joining the October scavenger hunt, but it really is the wrong time of year here (spring), but this next list is much more doable. Let's see how I go during November.

Great pictures! Love the sunsets....
ReplyDeleteI played along for the 1st time this month. I cheated with pictures from other times. But it was very fun.
this month I'll try to really take the pictures in November. However a poppy is a spring/summer flower...should be interesting.

Well done. Don't know whether I'll join in this month as we're in the wrong season for mist and crunchy leaves ( never !!) and don't really do Holloween but then I see all the others' and it gives me a boost. We'll see what I can scavenge today. You've inspired me !!
ReplyDeleteCheers
I always love to look at your scavenger hunt. Great list for November.
ReplyDeleteBoth sunset photos are great, but the the second one is one I see often on my way home in the fall evenings...but only visible from a 4 lane bridge with traffic flying by. I'll never catch it, so I was happy to see yours tonight!
ReplyDeleteLove that sunset, and the gold flowers.
ReplyDeleteSigh, no Pictures from Pretoria. We don't do Halloween, is sping here (although you would say it's mid-summer!) and October was a mad mad month.
But the November list is printed, and will live in my diary :-)
Some great photos - that scottish sunset is gorgeous - you should get a big one framed up :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the November list - a first glance it is right up my street :)
The grim reaper gave me the crfeeps! xxxx
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Kathy! I love the pumpkins and pansies. The dramatic sunset is stunning and I like the little museum building. It has been a bit of a struggle this month - I took lots of 'just in case I don't get a better one' photos. Tthanks for the new list there's lots to challenge us there:)
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to join in with these scavenger hunts but I just never seem to get around to it..... Maybe November will be a good time.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. Looking forward to tackling November's list.
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
Fantastic sunset shot! That memorial is rather spooky.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, most of all the sunset as you said, very dramatic. This is my first go, a couple i couldn't get but will post my offerings anyway later when i snap our pumpkin and convince my laptop to load my photos! Look forward to Novenmbers though
ReplyDeleteHannah
I enjoyed October but it did challenge me!
ReplyDeleteYour second sunset is stunning.
I had a couple of early morning walks trying to get the mist and wasn't sure what to do for heritage but did enjoy it. I also love your sunsets.

After looking here I couldn't resist ....and in the end I found the photos easily with only one to take specially. I guess I just needed inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Great photos again. I've just posted mine.
ReplyDeleteI found this month's list very difficult too and had to resort a bit of cheating too.
Beautiful sunset over the lake (loch?!), love the huge pile of pumpkins too. Eek! self portrait?!!! might have to think a bit creatively there... x
ReplyDeleteI love the photo scavenger hunt idea! I would love to take part in one sometime. It seems like fun.

What a wonderful selection of photos - I just love travelling to a different part of the world to see the photo choices. The sunlight on the pumpkins is so effective, as are your sunsets. I like the way you were able to find all of the items so resourcefully :) Very cute cat! Hope you enjoyed Halloween and here's to a magical November! Thanks again for hosting this fun event.
ReplyDeleteLove the spooky shot - properly eerie. Very cute cat too!
ReplyDeleteI managed to get to the end with a sneaky bit of help from a witches broom!

The second sunset is stunning!! I love it. Was it in Scotland?
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the war memorial statue being eerie. I think it's the cowl; somehow it smacks of dark things, deception and malicious secrecy. Shiver!
Love your sunsets, I did my first scavenger hunt in October.. I failed on a black cat and I had to add two previously taken photos for the pumpkin and graffiti... enjoyed it lots, looking forward to Novembers :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Love the sunset ones. Looking at November's list. I may have trouble with a couple. Definitely with the self portrait as I don't like doing them so I never do. =(
ReplyDeleteYou've taken some really beautiful photos this month. The sunsets are lovely, but the river is my favourite one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset! My mist pic is pretty similar to yours hehe! xx
ReplyDeleteI think I have a similar cat photo from when I was younger, thanks again for organising the list
ReplyDeletethose are wonderful photos, the spokey one really sent shivers down my spine, the sunset is lovely
ReplyDeleteI loved your sunset pictures. I always find myself scrambling at the end of the month for the last 2 pictures...I had trouble with Graffiti too. The November list will be a challenge. You have the best ideas!
ReplyDeleteWyatt's Mom
I love these posts and may attempt to join in this month if that is okay?

The sunset one really is quite special! Love the pumpkins too.
ReplyDeleteI started off really well this month but didn't get quite a few, must put up what I did achieve though.

The weather was not co-operative this month, was it? I had to be very creative with my mist/fog one because I just couldn't find any of the real stuff to capture on camera.
ReplyDeleteLove that second sunset picture. It's absolutely stunning.
Great photos especially the sunset ones, I like the clouds and the colours.
ReplyDeleteThat figure is very spooky not what you would normally expect. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteYour first sunset is nice but the second one is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love the witch picture!
ReplyDeleteMy effort was poor this month - I only got five, but the list for November looks great. I'm looking forward to this!
Your photos for this month are excellent especially the one of the figure on the memorial.,
