My Talent

Radiotherapy ~ Day 17 (11:30)

I don't feel I have any great talents.

I can't sing or dance
 I'm not sporty
I can't play a musical instument
I don't profess to be a fine artist
... but I do like to dabble in all things arty-crafty
and this has stood me in good stead as a primary school teacher.

I think I'm quite good at classroom display
I enjoy making my classroom a bright and cheerful place to learn.
Over the years I've turned my room into the Snow Queen's palace, a spaceship, a rainforest....
We've built Chinese dragons and pirate ships ...
(sadly, that is me in red, with my good friend Linda, dressed as pirates!)
Egyptian pyramids, Greek temples, The Willow Pattern Plate
Roman museums and Monet's Garden.....
you name it, I've probably done it in the past 30 years.
I can generally turn my hand to most things with a bit of thought...
I love messing around with bits of paper and fabric ....
... and I get paid for it!!!!
This year we've had Carlo's Cafe ...
When I return to school we're planning a huge writing topic on Traditional Tales:
cue castles, and dragons,
wizards and gingerbread cottages ...
I can't wait!

  2. Good morning! Just popped in before a trip to Robin Hood's Bay from our holiday cottage in Pickering. Your classroom looks fabulous! You sound vert much like me. I love making the room bright and welcoming and really enjoy the process. Sounds like a brilliant topic to go back to school to. Ros
