It's been another very strange week work wise .... a Bank Holiday on Monday and a closure on Thursday, so it's been another three day week. The children don't know what day it is, and the staff are all over the place too. I must admit, it's been just perfect for me, as I still find five days really tiring! But next week, things will be back to normal.

Found this in my fridge when we returned .... it seems my son and his friends had 'made a cake' while we were away! Apparently it's banana and chocolate with a cream frosting.... and they'd already eaten the first one... I've never been more amazed in my life!!!

May blossom ... hawthorn always reminds me of my walk to school when I was little.

The bluebells are still looking good on the Wirral Way
Have a great weekend ... looks like the weather has broken here, but I suppose we really did need some rain!

What a gorgeous sunset, just beautiful. Your son did well with the cake, they do do things which amaze us sometimes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. What a nice surprise, a lovely cake. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteWe've just returned from walking Snowdon. A little wet this time! But great all the same.

Here's hoping that the memories of your time away will ease the long week coming up!
ReplyDeleteDid you eat any of the cake?!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the smell of hawthorn, definitely a childhood smell of school.

I just love to see the Hawthorn & Blackthorn blosson coming out so pretty.
ReplyDeleteDid you get to eat the cake - and was it any good?! Gorgeous sunset on water photo. x
ReplyDeleteYour walk looks just beautiful, such clear views. I love Derwentwater, it's been a while since we've visited my in-laws, who live a bit further on from Keswick, it's such a long way to travel, but it is lovely on a sunny day. Thanks for your welcome to Monty and Leo - our sofas are now covered entirely in mis-matched throws and blankets till I can find a better solution so the whole room looks a mess. Monty is undeterred and just hides under the edge of the blanket from where he can gently prickle the sofa without being seen! xx
ReplyDeleteWell week 17 looks to have been a vintage one. Enjoyed the photos very much. And I'd have fainted if I found my son had made a cake - well done him.
