Marine Lake

A bright but bitterly cold day on the Paradise Peninsula ... we set off on a walk to blow the cobwebs away. Destination ... the walk around the Marine Lake at West Kirby.... something we've never done before.
If you look closely you can see little dots on the horizon ... they're people walking around the lake. I've seen people doing this so many times I thought I would be prepared ....I put on my wellies, expecting a wet walk with lots of splashes.
I was stunned to find the actual path around the lake was a full tarmac road, wide enough to take vehicles ... not a puddle in sight!
Inca loved sniffing the rocks and boulders ... and would have been in the lake given half a chance!
This guy was an expert windsurfer, skimming over the lake at great speed. He must have been freezing!
The views over the West Kirby sands....the blue skies belying the temperatures.
We got back to the car with tingling ears ... no matter how warmly you dress your face always feels the full impact! Bracing!!!

We'll definitely be back to do this again ... but probably on a summer's evening next time!

  4. It looks like a lovely walk, but that blue sky can be very misleading, you need a hat to keep your ears warm.

  6. your photographs are beautiful, it looks like a lovely walk.
i feel so ashamed that i took up the 365 challenge and have only managed to take one photograph since then. one! mind you my camrea has been playing up something awful and i am really not very knowledgable about them, so have not sorted out what the problem is. plus we have had endless days of grey sky's. i've been wondering if it's acceptable to start my challenge a little late. i am agoraphobic and about to set myself a morning walk challenge, thought it might be an idea to combine the two.

many thanks to you for your visits and lovely comments xxx

wishing you an enjoyable sunday and a lovely week ahead xxx

  10. You are so lucky to have blue sky! We had blue sky once this year so far!!! Today is grey with unrelentless rain too!!! How funny that there is a tarmac road around the lake. I bet it was nice and easy to walk on. I love the view over the West Kirby sands. x
