Just back from a freezing weekend in Bath ... we arrived in heavy snowfall and that set the scene for the whole weekend ... minus temperatures all the way! Undeterred, we wrapped up warmly and set out to find some festive spirit....
The Christmas Market was beautiful,
with the Abbey providing a superb backdrop for the wooden chalets ...
but oh my goodness it was so, so cold
I haven't taken as many photographs as I wanted because I couldn't bear to take off my sheepskin mitts
even a cup of mulled wine couldn't warm us up!
We bought a few bits and bobs to be hidden a way for Christmas, and enjoyed wandering around Bath. It's such a beautiful place ... I always say it's like stepping into a film set!
Earlier in the day we had driven into Bristol where we visited the St Nicholas Market in the old quarter ... this market is always here, not just for Christmas
It was tucked away in between narrow passageways and old buildings ... really quirky! We really enjoyed browsing here, away from the Christmas rush which was in full swing on the main high street.
We came home feeling quite festive .. I might start getting the decorations down from the loft soon!

I'm glad you made it.I thought you might have to postpone your trip. The Xmas market looked lovely.Hope it is warmer on the Wirral than here in Mold.We had snow on friday and it is still here.-8 here already!
