This is a charming little village, full of whitewashed, stone-walled, thatched cottages ....
.. with a fine parish church....
... and the wonderful Burton Manor, once the home of the son of William Gladstone, and now a venue for adult courses ... like photography, local history, music, and all sorts of crafts.
The best part for us, is a lovely walk through the woods behind the village ....
We didn't find the remains of the old mill ....
.... but we did stumble across a crocodile.
We watched Peter Pan on TV yesterday evening, wonder what he would have made of the wooden croc?!

ReplyDeleteBurton is a lovely village.Such pretty properties.I understand there is an RSPB bird reserve just past the village.It's on our "to do" list.
