On Saturday we headed into Keswick for a stroll around the market, before walking down to the lake at Grasmere.
.... where Inca had her usual swim
... one very wet dog. It's never too cold for swimming!
The signs of the changing season were all around us .... the leaves are turning ...
..berries are weighing branches down ...
the forest floor is crunchy underfoot...
...weird and wondeful fungi ...
and the surest sign that summer has finished?
We are bundled up in our duvet jackets!
Just love the Lakes my favorite place as a girl was Lowther we used to caravan there several times a year.

ReplyDeleteautumn walks are great aren't they. even taking the kids to the local park resulted in a bag of seed heads and conkers being brought home. fortunatly i can send them into school with my lad for 'art'!

Looks like you had a lovely weekend - the water does look very choppy at Derwentwater but much clamer for Inca's swim at Grassmere! Those coats look so warm and cosy:)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful retreat. Your photos are great, I especially like the second and third shot. It is a little cooler here, I wore a jacket to check the mail, but it is a very light one.
