The world famous Amalfi coast is just as stunning as the guide books say .... with dramatic views and sheer drops on every twist and turn of the road, we were glad we were on the local bus and not actually driving ourselves. We were quite relieved when we reached Positano, the prettiest little seaside village you could imagine.
We strolled down narrow winding streets to the sea front where we bought an ice cream. Suddenly we were joined by this little fellow ... does he remind you of anyone?
He was so charming we ended up giving him the last bits of our cornets ....
... but we made a hasty exit when three of his larger stray friends turned up for some too!
There were dogs everywhere we went, which was upsetting at first, but yet again they all look healthy and well fed so they must be getting food somewhere. There are some cats around too, especially near the fishing boats and we did see someone bringing them food, but the dogs are all over town.
This was a real tough guy who was battle scarred and fearsome. We gave him a wide berth after he chased off a rival!
We finished our journey down the coast at Amalfi, a bigger livelier town with lots of busy shops and many people thronging the streets.
When the sun went down the sea front looked magical as all the lights came on ... this photo doesn't do it justice.
I would have wanted to bring that doggie home, but that cat looks a bit of a bruiser!
ReplyDeleteMore lovely photos, I think I would have had my eyes shut on that bus journey!

Looks like a lovely break. Pretty photos and lovely dogs. Inca is very lovely!!!! Such a pretty face. We had a black lab many years ago. Scott belongs to my son and his wife and was incredibly tolerant of Oscar. Ros
