It's half term .... we've got a trip to London planned for later in the week ... but I've hurt my back and it doesn't look very hopeful at the moment.
It just seems like the gods are conspiring against us at the moment ... no fun for those two they say ...
Holiday coming up? Let's throw a spanner in the works!!!!
What shall we have? An operation to remove cancer last June half term, radiotherapy for the whole of the summer hols ...
OK, they seem to be coping with that so let's give him chronic back pain over Christmas ... is that enough? No ... that's too easy .... let's give her sciatica for February half term... she'll get over it in time for work next week!!!
So I'm in a foul mood.
I'm very late for the splash of colour for February .... but I'm going to show you some photos from previous holidays in France, seeing that I'm going nowhere this week!
All photographs taken in the Drome area of the South east corner of France!
We should be going back there in the Summer ... what's the chances of it actually happening?

Oh no, poor you. I do hope you feel better soon. You'll have to give yourself plenty of little treats this week to compensate for missing out on your trip to London.
ReplyDeleteLove your splash of colour and know EXACTLY what you mean about the Gods. Operation Oct 1/2 term ( last year). Chemotherapy for Christmas and into Feb. Ovaries for Easter and then we actually skipped a couple before broken arm for Christmas. Surely by now we've done our bit now. No more! From now on I'm going to slay those gods. Want to join in? Take care, hope your freed up soon xx
ReplyDeleteOh what a shame. really really hoping you are feeling better soon. gorgeous photos, hope they have cheered you a little. xxx

I hope that looking back at your colourful photos has managed to cheer you up a little bit, sunflowers are such cheery flowers.

ReplyDeleteOh dear.Life isn't fair. WE had two bad years health wise in 2008/2009 and into 2010.Every day there seemed to be a letter from the hospital with yet another appointment.Thankfully we seem (fingers crossed) to be out of it.We are making the most of it.Let's hope you make a rapid recovery and can get to London.Thank you for showing us the French photos. We have two trips planned. Two weeks in June and two in September.Thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteOh, please don't be sad :( It does look like things are piling up against you; but just think of all of the many blessings that you have, and perhaps that will cheer you up. Your pictures are absolutely beautiful! What a blessing that you are able to travel to such wonderful places :) Perhaps try and get out some knitting, sip on a cup of hot tea, and think happy thought :)
ReplyDeleteOh Kathy - what rotten news about your back. Hope it eases soon and you still get your trip to London.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of Sunflowers - very pretty.
Hugs.

How kind of you to share colour when you suffering so! If it is any help at all, I was referred by a friend to a doctor who used pressure point treatment. It was the only thing that relieved my sciatica and had me up and moving again before long. I am sending healing thoughts to you ~
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely lot of colour, just what we need to cheer us up.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have sciatica. I suffer from that as well and at its worse it is completely disabling! Hope you are better soon.
Oh Kathy, so sorry to hear your back is giving such awful pain. I hope you manage to do something over the break even if London doesn't come off.

ReplyDeleteThis is not really a splash of color...more like a flood! Beautiful, all of it, but my fav is the first pic. It should be a blog background or something!!!
Thanks Kathy for comments on my blog about visit to France. Yes, I've also visited Vaison la Romaine. We've been to the museum and the Sunday open ceramic market where the artists shown many wonderful pieces. I enjoyed very much our visit to Provence.
ReplyDeleteStay well.
Having back pain is so discouraging. I have discs problems so I am always on eggshells worrying if it will go out completely. Feel better soon and sorry about your plans.
ReplyDeletePS That should have been Trigger Points, rather than Pressure Points... helped me a lot.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy came byto say thank you for your kind comment and read this post. Life does have a horrible knack oF kicking us when we are down, but I know you have a fighting spirit and will soon be back to your normal sunny self.
