First stop was the wonderful Corn Exchange building ... just look at the amazing roof.
It has a restaurant on the lower level, where we later had a leisurely lunch, and some cute shops on the two upper floors.
The Leeds City Market had a lovely flower stall, and carved wooden dragons around the roof.
This is Harvey Nicks ... but we weren't as impressed as we were supposed to be!
But we did like the lovely Victorian shopping arcades ... we don't have anything like these back home. They're pretty much all the same high street stores, but in very attractive surroundings.
Rose and Co was a super cute shop ... full to the brim of very pretty things!
We thoroughly exhausted ourselves wandering around the shops, but didn't really find anything to splash out on in the end .... although I did buy a nice vintage handbag which was a good bargain.Best of all was spending time with my lovely daughter. I love that she enjoys our days out as much as I do!

My goodness Leeds looks like a vintage shopper's paradise! How wonderful the Corn Exchange looks - I love old buildings with new lives.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful buildings. Hope they helped you with the scavenger hunt this month.
ReplyDeleteLovely to spend a day out with your daughter in such lovely surroundings.

I'm never impressed in Harvey Nics either, but the Corn Exchange, the market and the arcade are all really fab. Great central place for 3 bloggers to meet up too! xxxxxx

ReplyDeleteWhen I used to work in Leeds I loved browsing around that Arcade - beautiful architecture, and fab shops. Was the Charbonnel et Walker chocolatier shop still there?
Glad you had a great time.Leeds is a lovely city. Our son was at Uni there so we got to know it quite well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Kathy, pleased you had a good day out. Not long till the holidays now. Xx
ReplyDeleteI really must spend a day in Leeds, my daughter is always saying what a great place it is for shops but I've only ever been to the Library on family history expeditions and that only once. It isn't exactly a million miles away from where I live either:) The Corn Exchange looks a fantastic building.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that Leeds had such a nice shopping arcade (guess I've never really given it much thought!) - the corn exchange is a really impressive building, lovely photos.
