Currently ....

A little snapshot of what's going on in my life right now.

Reading
I'm half way through this, and the jury's still out. I usually romp through books, but this is dragging on, so I suppose that says it all. Still, I like it when I can't predict whats going to happen next, and this one is keeping me guessing.

Eating
I've been working my way through Jamie Oliver's latest offering. I don't know if we're actually saving anything but everything I've cooked so far has been really good. We're loving the tasty dressings and sauces. The only downside is, that as I'm such a messy worker, there's a heck of a mess to clear up afterwards!

Listening to
My latest download is the recent album from Tired Pony, which is a side project from Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol. I love it.... it's my sort of music. Nice tunes and good lyrics.

Watching

Downton, of course. It's what Sunday night was made for.

Making me happy

Potting up bulbs  for spring and making the most of the last sunny day before all this awful rain. We're having a huge garden makeover over the winter, so I can't plant much straight into the ground.

Wearing
Warmer coats have been dug out of the depths of the cupboard and my jackets and trench coat have been put away. Haven't had gloves on yet but I suspect it won't be too long.

Feeling
That I've been neglecting my little blog of late. Too many distractions in the real world, and not having much to say I suppose.  I haven't even been taking many photographs either. I need to make more effort!

Thinking about
As soon as the clocks go back, and the first really dark nights settle in, my thoughts turn to Christmas. (Aaaargh!)
I want to try and simplify things this year. Well, that's that's my aim every year but I usually just get carried away. I want to spend more time 'enjoying the moment',  and less time on all the stuff and nonsense that goes with the season.

What are you up to currently?

  1. I love this kind of post Kathy, a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I might have to try it myself. As you say the real life sometimes gets in the way of blogging and although I'm still taking photos and got lots to write about - I don't. I agree with you about simplifying Christmas, as much as I love it, it's so much hassle at times that the whole meaning seems to get lost. Have a great weekend.

  2. Helping SmallBean with an Egyptian powerpoint, cleaning windows, sweeping leaves, tidying up after SmallerBean's sleepover and thinking about what to cook for supper. Usual weekend stuff.
I like the look/sound of Tired Pony- am off to investigate. Have a happy weekend, Ax

  3. I bought Jamie's new cookbook when I was in the UK in September. I think it's his best ever! And I have to admit that I am suffering from a case of North American Downton Abby envy. The show won't air over here until after Christmas. :-)

  5. I certainly enjoy Downton Abby and there are idiots around here you pronounce it like down town abby.
