Making Plans

In these dark, dreary, damp, dismal days between Christmas and the return to real life I let my mind wander and start to make plans ...... not really resolutions ..... but fanciful ideas to cheer me up...
Wouldn't it be nice if this year ......
~ we made the garden pretty again

with gorgeous roses from David Austinsomewhere pretty to sit while sipping cold drinks on summer afternoonand above all a little shed for me to potter around in in my dreams I paint it pale green and white and have window boxes and hollyhocks and sunflowers ....
..... and I will grow my herb garden at long last ........ ....... in pots and tubs on a painted bench .... so I'll always have fresh herbs to pick for my recipes.

~ Indoors ......we really need to decorate the living room and replace the old suite

~ and sort out the bathroom .... now there's a challenge!

~ I definitely intend to discover more about this lovely place we live in and plan to explore the paradise peninsula with my camera in hand

There are so many little villages that I don't know much about ...Thursaston, Burton, Thornton Hough, Willaston ... after thirty years here I plan to do something about it!

~ as soon as it's light enough in the mornings I intend to resume my early walks with Inca.
After hurting my back I had to give this up, but as soon as the clocks change I'll be out there, just me and my dog, and the glorious fresh air.

~ it would be nice to slow down the hectic pace of my life, just do only what I need to do for the day job, and not let it take over my life as so often happens ......

~ it would be nice to enjoy real home cooking all the time and not just when I get the time to browse through my numerous cookery books ....

~ it would be nice to spend more time with the lovely Mr. B (whether he wants to or not!!!! ..... my plans for him don't involve rock climbing!!!!) ..... I think I need to build in a series of "dates", theatre and cinema trips, meals out and just going for long walks at the weekend with Inca.

~ and it would be nice to spend more time with our lovely children (who are now so independent!)

~ it would be nice if there was always something ahead, in the not too distant future, to look forward to..... like our trip to Naples in February. Well spaced out treats to lift the spirit and put a spring in your step..... ~Wouldn't it be nice if all my plans were fulfilled in the coming year?

Here's hoping for a happy and more importantly healthy 2010!
