Sad Times ....

This post will mean nothing to anyone who doesn't follow football,
but,
as soon as this happened ....
.... here in the P.P. household we just knew what would happen next.
My menfolk are heartbroken that the much loved manager of our team, Everton, will be taking over at Old Trafford.

My son can't remember another manager at Everton, and my husband worships the ground David Moyes walks on! In fact, I had to put my foot down when he wanted to call our dog Moysey!

There have been sad phone calls tonight as the inevitable happened..... from the boy away at uni, my dad, and even my daughter.

It's the end of an era.

  1. Oh dear. I have to admit I don't care (And I'm fed up of hearing about Alex Ferguson) but I understand it must be dreadful for Everton.

Back in the day, if you sang You'll Never Walk Alone in my (then) local pub, you got slung out! (The Caledonia - back of Philharmonic Hall)
One thing I have learned - I had no idea Bill Kenwright was chairman.

  2. Dare I suggest they become Man U fans? No, I thought not, but take heart, both Michael Laudrup and Roberto Martinez appear to be in the frame, either would no doubt do a superb job.

  4. As a big footie fan I do understand. Altho I have to say I was pleased it wasn't The Special One as I want him back home at The Bridge.

  5. I was surprised DM went. After all wouldn't you want to be the one after the one who took after from AF and DM has been there for so long.
Just hope you don't get Harry Redknapp, that man has no idea about loyalty.
