My daughter did a post, recently, over on her blog, Recent Treats, about feeling that she's hurtling towards 30 and has so many things she still wants to do. Well, I'm 30 years older than her, so imagine how I feel!!!!
So, I've done my own List.
Here are some things I want to do one day, in no particular order. Some are very easy to do, and could well be ticked off some time soon. Others will have to wait a while yet. This is not a definitive list .... I will probably be adding all sorts of things to it along the way.
It's all just a question of time ........

What would you put on your "List"?
Do you know, I could so be with you on many of these, especially the last one! There is just never enough time, because we spend so much time in school or thinking about school. One day............. Have a good week. Ros
ReplyDeleteThat is why retirement is great. You can get to do loads of things. We are going to Marrakech in September but will have been to Spain for two weeks plus two other weeks(one in July, one end of August)in France before that trip.As to Cambridge we will be there a lot during the summer holidays looking after our grandchildren. It's a lovely city and Matt lives within walking distance ,about 10 mins,of the centre.Of the other things -I am in two books groups. We have never been so busy.I'm learning Welsh plus loads of other things(a lot U3A).Kathy, you just need to get early retirement.Being retired is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteMuch of the same for me too Kathy - I need to write my list. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteWow! Food for thought here. I'd like to read my way through those 200 books too! There are quite a few things on your list that could easily be on mine.
ReplyDeleteActually you could knock a few of those off at once and pretty easily too - You could walk along the beach in the moonlight (in a dress) and throw your message in the bottle into the sea as you do so!
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I think we all have lists like these, but we don't always write them down and cross them off as we go. Plus there are always new items to add to the bottom of the list.
xXx Helen
Lovely idea. I was thinking this morning about doing something like this. I've found that short term to-do lists have helped me be less confused and rushed and actually get things done, so it'd be good to see if writing down larger goals or experiences would help me achieve them.
ReplyDeleteIt'd also be a good pick me up for days when I'm feeling a bit hopeless, nothing feels as good as possibility!
Nice to see you back again, Kathy. Lots of things I want to do (so little money, so little time...!!!) - some of yours are on my list too - moonlit beach is definitely there, plus see the Northern lights, go to the grand canyon, see Shakespeare at the Globe, walk the coast to coast path, start running again, read all the books I want to read (that's a never ending list!!)....I could go on, there is so much life out there to be experienced. But I could tick a few off your list too - love Hay-on-Wye (the book festival is fab) and Catbells was one of the first 'peaks' our boys ticked off on their Lakes summits list! PS - having such a struggle with Aprils scavenger hunt!!! looks unlikely I'll get them all by tomorrow! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list of things to see and do ~ I enjoyed reading through them and thinking about each item! I've read that it's a good idea to print the list out and put it in a visible spot ~ like with a magnet on your fridge. also thought this idea was cute:

I haven't been blogging much, but have posted my April Scavenger Hunt already :)
I love your list! I like to travel someplace random every year or how often I can afford. So my list would include seeing more of the world. And remembering once a day to have a little fun and not take it all so seriously!
ReplyDeleteSuch an ambitious list! I could actually copy your list and save myself some time...hehe. I've not been posting on my blog, and have missed the Scavenger Hunt for two months now...I'll be back, though, when the time is right. Hmmmm...maybe I should put THAT on my list. You've given me some things to think about! It'll be interesting to read about all your accomplishments in the months (years) to come!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list. I hope that if you ever come to New England in the fall that we would be able to meet each other. They say when you make a list things are a lot easier to accomplish.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of fun things on your list I hope you get to do them all.I on the other hand decided to not make a list. If I die tomorrow I have lived a very good life.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Looking at your daughter's list too you'll be able to help each other tick a few of the list and enjoy yourselves alot at the same time. From reading other people's blogs I want to go to Whitby and to Port Sunlight. I think I need to build an itinerary for the North!

That's a very long list! I suppose I have a list in my head as well though it isn't as clear cut as yours. It would include one of yours which is to revisit Florence (though I've already been to the Uffizi) and I would also love to visit Savannah and Charleston in the Deep South of America. One day I'd like to have my garden looking really good in August too - something I've never yet managed:)
ReplyDeletethat's a great list! I've walked to Hilbre Island, and stood in awe at the base of the Angel, and now want to write a list of my own. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list - I hope you start crossing things off it soon and have a wonderful time doing so. I'd love to go back to Italy one day and Paris again whilst I'm still able. I've also a yen to visit Sweden and Denmark one day. I can dream! I used to wear dresses and skirts a lot when I was working but now seem to live in jeans or trousers and usually black - I may join you in the wear more dresses one:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list! It's good to have it written down - now you can start to work on it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Doing, Seeing, Visiting & Travelling, Pj x
You have a great list Kathy with realistic goals. Maybe I should write a list too. x
ReplyDeleteYou missed one Kathy...
ReplyDeleteHave afternoon tea with Lyn and Diane in Liverpool!
Do you know there are many thing on your list that could go straight on my list and one or two that I could tick off your list! But I think it is a great idea and I might have to give it a thought.
xxx
Great list - some of my list is on your list.
ReplyDeleteKathy I'm sorry to hear that April has been hard for you. I hope you are ok. Sending very best wishes.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I don't seem to have the option to follow your blog at the top of my screen. I used to follow you but you disappeared from my reading list and I couldn't get you back again!
I was just flicking onto your blog as Ive just done the April Scavenger Hunt - although not wholly!
ReplyDeleteAs I was scrolling down the page I spotted the word Carcassone! If yiou do ever get the chance to go - you must! It's a beautiful beautiful place .. Did you know the Castle is what inspired Walt Disney to draw the Cinderella princess castle (The castle used as the logo for all Disney films :) )
Just thought I'd tell you that piece of trivia ;P And now will upload my pictures ;P
Sal xXx
I love your list! It sounds like so much fun. I hope you get to accomplish every single thing :)
